TV star ties knot at luxury Algarve villa

The pair, who married in the gardens of the beautiful villa, said their vows last Saturday in front of family and friends including her Loose Women co-presenters Andrea McLean, Carol McGiffin, Lisa Maxwell and Shobna Gulati.
Also among guests were former EastEnders actress Jill Halfpenny, journalist and TV presenter Kate Thornton, and actor and panto star Christopher Biggins.
The entire party is said to have stayed at the brand new, five-star Conrad Algarve hotel.
Absent from the ceremony was Denise’s eldest son Matthew Healy, 23 – from her 24-year marriage to actor Tim Healy – who was supporting the Rolling Stones at London’s Hyde Park on Saturday night with his rock band The 1975.
Via her Twitter account the former Coronation Street star, 55, revealed that on the flight over to Portugal her wedding dress had caused somewhat of a commotion.
She said the dress had had to be put in the cockpit of the Easyjet aircraft because it wouldn’t fit anywhere else.
“Hilarious!! The Captain and First Officer on our @easyJet flight are looking after my wedding dress in the cockpit!!!! Xx”, she Tweeted.
After the ceremony the couple, who are tee-total, and their guests tucked into a buffet served at the villa.
A hog roast is believed to have been put on with entertainment including a saxophonist, an acoustic guitar player and a band later on, all provided by local musicians and caterers.
It will hopefully be third time lucky for Denise, who was previously married to David Easter, from 1985 to 1988, before wedding Tim Healy.
Great measures were taken to keep Denise and her husband’s outfits and details of their ceremony under wraps to protect an exclusive magazine deal with UK weekly celebrity publication Hello.
Both the magazine deal and the couple’s guest list have received less-than-complimentary comments from the UK’s media, which according to the Daily Mail has prompted Denise to retort: “My guests have been true friends for years.”
It is thought the couple may have visited the sumptuous villa earlier this year to check it out ahead of their nuptials after a reviewer identifying himself as ‘Lincoln Townley’ rated the villa on travel website Tripadvisor.
In a review posted 9 January 2013, Lincoln Townley wrote: “Fantastic villa, great facilities plush interior all modern and very clean. Shops and great bars very close, golf courses and 5 star restaurants make this whole package unbeatable in my opinion. I feel I’ve experienced great travel and luxury in my time! This tops it all…”
With six bedrooms and space to sleep fourteen people, Quinta de Amizade is located just two minutes from the luxury Quinta do Lago hotel, where guests are believed to have stayed.
Described as a “spacious holiday estate bordering Quinta do Lago in the Ludo Valley on the road to the new Quinta do Lago Laranjal Golf Course”, the luxury villa consists of a four-bedroom villa and two-bedroom cottage and boasts a pool, sprawling gardens and a sweeping drive.
Prices range from £1,995 to £4,995 per week.
